Cantaloupes

I have waited to see arrivals on offshore cantaloupes. At shipping point the product looks good because they are washed and shed packed. No one ever knows how the product will be affected in transit.

My QA reports can be summed up;

Most fruit in box is good, brix values have a wide range 8.5-14%. Some sunken and discoloured fruit is present, no decay and a few with pink mold. All fruit should be moved quickly.

This is the reality for the upcoming weeks. Thankfully the FOB’s are still low.
